MSI Motherboards Now Support Faster CXMT DDR5 Memory

MSI has announced a significant update for its AMD AM5 motherboard lineup, introducing official validation for Chinese-manufactured CXMT memory modules to operate at accelerated speeds. This development means that users can now utilize region-bound CXMT RAM with enhanced performance, specifically reaching up to 8,200 MT/s.

The boost in memory clock speeds is facilitated by a recently issued BIOS update. This firmware upgrade optimizes the motherboards to leverage the full potential of CXMT DDR5 modules. For gaming enthusiasts and power users, this translates to faster data processing and improved overall system responsiveness.

It's important to note the distinction in performance based on DIMM configuration. Motherboards equipped with two RAM slots are now capable of handling these impressive 8,200 MT/s frequencies most effectively. In contrast, models featuring four DIMM slots will support CXMT memory at speeds up to 7,200 MT/s. While still a substantial improvement, the slight reduction in speed for quad-DIMM setups is typical due to increased electrical load and signal routing complexities.
